Dead by Daylight Crossover Tier List’ – condensed to

Released in 2016, Dead by Daylight has thrived and remained popular for almost eight years, thanks to its consistent stream of updates. These updates, ranging from major to minor DLCs, bring new content, characters, and tweaks to enhance the gameplay. However, not all DLCs are created equal, especially the crossover DLCs that the game has seen. From iconic films like Resident Evil and Stranger Things to popular franchises like Saw and Silent Hill, Dead by Daylight has collaborated with some of the biggest names in horror, with varying success.

S Tier – Dead by Daylight Crossover DLCs That Offer The Complete Package 👌

🧟 Resident Evil:

This DLC, arriving in June 2021, introduced a new Killer, two new Survivors, and a detailed map based on the Resident Evil franchise. The Nemesis, the Killer, is simple yet incredibly fun to play, and the Survivors, Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine, are considered among the best in the game. The Raccoon Police Department map is a loving recreation of its Resident Evil 2 Remake counterpart. This DLC offers the epitome of the complete package.

🧟‍♂️ Resident Evil: Project W:

Following the success of the first Resident Evil DLC, the second installment brings two more top-tier Survivors and the iconic Albert Wesker as the ruthless Killer. Although this DLC lacks a map, the characters more than make up for it. The Survivors, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers, are highly regarded, making this DLC a great addition to the game.

🚪 Stranger Things:

After a licensing hiatus, the Stranger Things DLC made a triumphant return to the game. The Demogorgon, the Killer, comes with some of the game’s best Perks and a theme-appropriate teleportation ability. While the Survivors, Nancy and Steve, may not be considered the best, they are still fan-favorite characters. The addition of the Hawkins Laboratory map further enhances the DLC.

👽 Alien:

One of the latest and best Dead by Daylight crossover DLCs, the Alien Chapter introduces the Xenomorph as a thrilling and slightly overpowered Killer. Ripley, the Survivor, brings thematically fitting Perks, and the Nostromo Wreckage map showcases the developers’ passion for the franchise. This DLC is a must-have for any horror gaming enthusiast.

A-Tier – Dead by Daylight Crossover DLCs With Both a Great Killer and Survivor 🌟

🗡️ Saw:

The Saw crossover DLC, although featuring slightly weaker characters, is still one of the strongest in the game. The Pig, the Killer, has some decent Perks, and her unique trapping mechanic adds to the intensity. The addition of the iconic Reverse Bear Trap from the Saw movies is a delightful touch, enhancing the overall experience. The map captures the essence of the franchise’s memorable moments.

B-Tier – Dead by Daylight Crossover DLCs That Are Good, But Have One or Two Issues 🎯

🌑 Silent Hill:

Similar to the Saw DLC, the Silent Hill Chapter is good but comes with minor flaws. Pyramid Head, the Killer, has unique zone-based abilities but lacks powerful Perks. The Survivor, Cheryl Mason, also falls slightly short in terms of effectiveness. The Midwich Elementary School map captures the Silent Hill aesthetic but can be confusing to navigate and favors the Killer too much.

🎃 Halloween:

Being the first ever Dead by Daylight crossover DLC, the Halloween pack is a mixed bag. Michael Myers, known as The Shape, captures the character’s essence but doesn’t offer the most exciting gameplay. Laurie Strode, the Survivor, has both great and useless Perks. The Lampkin Lane map, while thematically on point, can be frustrating to play.

🧟‍♂️ Left 4 Dead:

The Left 4 Dead DLC brings Bill as the sole Survivor, who is considered one of the best in the game, with versatile Perks suitable for any build. However, compared to higher-tier DLCs, this crossover lacks additional content.

👩‍🦰 Sadako Rising (The Ring):

Initially met with mixed reviews, this DLC has improved over time. The Onryo, the Killer, has a well-themed and fun ability, though it requires practice for optimal use. The Survivor, Yoichi, is decent but not exceptional.

🪀 Child’s Play:

While lacking the content of higher-tier DLCs, the Child’s Play pack presents a unique and creative Killer, capturing the spirit of the IP effectively. Though small, it adds a breath of fresh air to the game.

📚 Alan Wake:

The most recent crossover DLC, Alan Wake, introduces the titular character as a Survivor. While his Perks may not be overpowered, they align well with the source material. Additionally, the character model is visually appealing.

C-Tier – Dead by Daylight Crossover DLCs That Are Okay, But Have Clear Flaws 😕

🪚 Texas Chain Saw Massacre:

One of the initial crossover DLCs, Texas Chain Saw Massacre added Leatherface as the Killer. Unfortunately, Leatherface is considered one of the weakest Killers in Dead by Daylight. The DLC lacks the effectiveness seen in the base game’s own Texas Chain Saw-inspired Hillbilly.

🗡️ Scream:

As an oddity in terms of licensing, the Scream DLC features a character similar to the iconic franchise without full references. Ghost Face, the Killer, is enjoyable to play but lacks uniqueness compared to other Killers with similar abilities.

🪓 Ash vs. the Evil Dead:

Despite being a disappointment for Evil Dead fans, this DLC includes Ash Williams as a Survivor. Ash’s Perks, although not exceptionally powerful, are thematically relevant. The character model also meets expectations.

D-Tier – Dead by Daylight Crossover DLCs That Don’t Really Capitalize on The IP 😔

☂️ Nightmare on Elm Street:

Considered one of the worst DLCs, the Nightmare on Elm Street pack fails to deliver an impressive experience. Freddy, the Killer, is ineffective, and Quentin, the Survivor, has lackluster Perks. The saving grace is the Springwood map, which is included in the game for free.

🔐 Hellraiser:

Another disappointing DLC, Hellraiser features only one complex Killer. While the DLC demonstrates more care than Nightmare on Elm Street, it falls short overall.
