After a few turns in the Green Soul phase, Undyne will switch you back to the Red Soul phase. This is where the battle becomes interesting, and you have two approaches to choose from:
🔥 The Path of Battle
One method is to “Fight” Undyne whenever it’s your turn. Attack her relentlessly until her health bar is depleted. Undyne will admire your strength, but her determination won’t let her give up easily. Her attacks will gradually slow down until she eventually fades away into dust. 💨
Most of Undyne’s attacks in the Neutral Route are telegraphed, making it easier for you to anticipate and dodge them. So, get used to her patterns and show her what you’re made of! This will allow you to maintain the Neutral Route and continue on to Hotlands.
🏃 The Path of Escape
The other way to face Undyne is by fleeing during the Red Soul phase. Press the Flee button in the Mercy Tab, and you’ll have a few seconds to sprint into the cave and continue further until she catches up with you. The fight will resume, and you won’t be able to escape until the next Red Soul phase.

Here, you’ll have a choice: “Fight” the Monster Kid and continue on the Genocide Route or spare them and switch to the Neutral Route.
